Faculty Governance

Faculty Governance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is led by the Faculty Council and is comprised of one elected voting member from each academic unit.  The Faculty Council is a policy making and consultative body, responsible for the quality of instruction and scholarship at the University as outlined by the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina.

New faculty members joining the University for the Fall 2014 semester are expected to attend the New Faculty Orientation on Monday, August 11, 2014, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, hosted by the ADVANCE Faculty Affairs Office.

University Convocation to be held August 19
July 15, 2014
The University Convocation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. in McKnight Hall of the Cone University Center. Preceding the Convocation from 9:00-9:30 a.m., faculty, staff, and students are invited to enjoy coffee and refreshments in the McKnight Hall lobby area.

2014-2015 Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs Now Available Online
June 20, 2014
The new 2014-2015 Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs are now available online. Be sure to check out the WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR heading in the "Introduction to the Catalog" section of each catalog to see what new programs have been added or changes to existing programs have been made in the past year. 2014 also celebrates the 45th anniversary of UNC Charlotte offering graduate programs. (In 1969, the University first began offering programs leading to master’s degrees.)
