Summary
The Department of Chemistry proposes to revise the major restriction on CHEM 1203, CHEM 1203L, CHEM 1204, and CHEM 1204L to reflect changes in the policies of majors that accept these courses as requirements and the new admission policy for pre-nursing majors. The proposed changes would exclude all majors from registering for this course except PNUF, PNUR and PNUT majors. CHEM 1203/1203L and CHEM 1204/1204L are required for pre-nursing majors only for admittance to the Nursing program. No other major requires these courses to meet degree requirements.

CHEM 1203. Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry I. (3) For PNUR, PNUF and PNUT majors only. Primarily for nursing majors. Qualifies as a prerequisite only for CHEM 1204. Fundamentals of chemistry and selected topics from inorganic chemistry. Three lecture hours and one Problem Session hour per week. Note: credit will be given for only one course: CHEM 1111, 1203, or 1251. (Fall, Summer)
CHEM 1203L. Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry I Laboratory. (1) Pre- or corequisite: CHEM 1203. For PNUR, PNUF and PNUT majors only. Laboratory investigations into the nature of inorganic compounds. One three-hour laboratory per week. Note: credit will be given for only one course: CHEM 1111L, 1203L, or 1251L. (Fall, Summer)
