OPTION A*:


For counselors who graduated from a 60 credit CACREP accredited program in Agency Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Community Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling.

Certificate Requirements


Based on a review of the applicant's transcript, a program of study will be designed that indicates the counselor has completed the following courses:

CSLG 7141 - The Professional School Counselor (3)

CSLG 7646 - Advocacy and Leadership in Professional School Counseling (3)

CSLG 7436 - Advanced Internship in School Counseling (3)

CSLG 7140- Consultation in School Counseling (3)

An additional school-focused elective 3 Credit hours

OPTION B*:


For counselors who graduated from CACREP accredited programs in Agency Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Community Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling with less than 60 credit hours.

Certificate Requirements


Based on a review of applicant's transcript, a program of study will be designed that is equivalent to a 60 credit school counseling program, including the following courses:

CSLG 7141 - The Professional School Counselor (3)

CSLG 7646 - Advocacy and Leadership in Professional School Counseling (3)

CSLG 7436 - Advanced Internship in School Counseling (3)

An additional school-focused elective (3)

CSLG 7140 Consultation in School Counseling (3)

OPTION C**:


For counselors who graduated from non-accredited counseling programs in Agency Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Community Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling.

Certificate Requirements


Based on a review of applicant's transcript, a program of study will be designed that is equivalent to a 48 credit school counseling program, including the following courses:

CSLG 7141 - The Professional School Counselor (3)

CSLG 7646 - Advocacy and Leadership in Professional School Counseling (3)

CSLG 7436 - Advanced Internship in School Counseling (3)

An additional school-focused elective (3)

CSLG 7140- Consultation in School Counseling (3)
