Summary

The Department of Languages and Culture Studies wishes to standardize the listings for the languages that offer a 3050-level course as a writing intensive course*.  In order to ease the ability to cross-list such courses with departments who may not be interested in cross-listing with a writing intensive course, we wish to add a 3051 course which will be identical to its corresponding 3050 in all respects except that the 3051 courses will be topics courses that are not writing intensive.  As you will note below, FILM already has the 3050-3051 pairing.  However in this case, it is the 3051 that is writing intensive.  In the name of standardization we are also requesting changing FILM 3051 from writing intensive to non-writing intensive and changing FILM 3050 from non-writing intensive to writing intensive.
